What ?
A group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do. Those people really care about how to do it better.
Why ?
“Knowledge is the only thing that grows when shared”.

- using collective intelligence to create bettre practices
- Developing a corporate culture that encourages mutual support and learning
How ?
You can start by creating a community around craftsmanship for example.
To do so here are the activities we recommend to follow :
- Identify & gather motivated people
- Define the goals that could be achieved by the community
- Co-construct the vision of the community (needs to be facilitated)
- Set goals / objectives
- Example of goal : by sharing the knowkedge we will be able to reuse others teams libraries and save time to focus on business functionalities
- Find sponsors
- Explain the goals to the management
- Ask for means (dedicated time for example)
- Define a backlog of activities that could help you to reach the goals
- Measure the impact of the community
Examples of activities :
- Organize Brown bag lunchs
- Organize code kata sessions
- Help other teams
- Train people
- Contribute to internal Open Source
